No. The Free plan is self-serve. You can create an account, set up a workspace, generate content, and evaluate the product without entering payment details.
How long does setup take?+
Most users are publishing inside 10 minutes: sign up → set brand name + colors (we can auto-import from your website) → connect a social account via OAuth → generate your first post. The onboarding wizard walks you through it.
Can I bring my own Instagram / Facebook app?+
Not today. BrandPilots uses its own Meta Business app so everyone gets the same vetted permissions. A BYO-app option is on the roadmap for Business plan customers.
Billing
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Cancel from the Billing tab → Manage Subscription (Stripe portal). Your plan remains active through the end of the paid period — you keep the features you paid for until the renewal date.
What happens when I exceed my monthly quota?+
Usage limits (AI generations, posts, workspaces, social accounts) are enforced in real time. When you hit a limit you'll see a 402 Payment Required response with an Upgrade link. Scheduled posts created before you hit the limit still publish normally.
Do you offer refunds?+
Prorated refunds within 14 days of any plan change. After 14 days, cancellation takes effect at the next renewal — we don't refund partial months outside that window.
Do annual plans really save 20%?+
Yes. The yearly price is billed once per year and works out to the 20% discount shown on the pricing card. No hidden fees, no opt-in-required offers.
AI & content generation
Which AI models do you use?+
Captions and short-form copy use OpenAI GPT-5.2-mini. Long-form (blog posts, content plans) uses Claude Sonnet 4.6. Image generation uses Google Gemini 2.5 Flash Image. Voiceover uses ElevenLabs.
Is my content used to train AI models?+
No. We route calls directly to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and ElevenLabs under their standard API terms — which, for all four, exclude API traffic from training data. We don't add our own fine-tuning layer.
How does brand voice work?+
Your brand guidelines (tone of voice, writing style, banned words, editorial rules, topics to cover/avoid, content pillars) are layered into every AI prompt. Generation reads your voice first, then the topic — so output sounds like your brand, not “generic ChatGPT”.
Can I regenerate without burning quota?+
Yes: draft previews and in-memory iterations don't count against your monthly AI quota. Only the final “Generate” button records usage.
Platforms & publishing
Which platforms do you publish to?+
Today: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Pinterest. TikTok content generation is ready; TikTok publishing is in development. See the features page for per-platform detail.
Why does Instagram need a Facebook Business account?+
That's a Meta requirement, not ours. Instagram publishing via the Graph API requires a Business or Creator IG account linked to a Facebook Page. Personal accounts can't be used by any third-party publisher, including Meta's own tools.
What if a scheduled post fails to publish?+
The cron retries up to 3 times with a 15-minute backoff. After the third failure the post is marked as Failed with a visible error reason — you see it in the dashboard and can retry manually or fix the input.
Do you use Zapier / Make.com / Ayrshare?+
No. BrandPilots publishes directly through Meta Graph API and Pinterest API v5. No aggregators, no middleware. The OAuth permissions you grant go to us, not a reseller.
Workspaces & teams
How many brands can I manage?+
Depends on plan: Free + Starter = 1, Pro = 3, Business = 10. Each workspace has its own brand guidelines, social accounts, posts, and analytics — fully isolated.
Can I invite my team?+
Multi-seat workspaces are in development. For now, each user has their own account with solo access to their workspaces. Email hello@brandpilots.io if you need team access today and we'll coordinate directly.
Can I switch between workspaces quickly?+
Yes — the sidebar has a workspace switcher that flips the entire dashboard context (posts, analytics, guidelines, social accounts) in one click.
Data, security & privacy
Where is my data stored?+
Supabase (AWS) in the West US region. All tables have row-level security policies enforced in Postgres — a query from one workspace physically cannot return another workspace's data.
Can I delete my account and everything in it?+
Yes, self-serve. Settings → Account → Danger Zone. Type your email to confirm, and we cascade-delete your workspaces, posts, social accounts, brand guidelines, AI history, and profile. Irreversible.
What about accidental deletes?+
Posts you delete are soft-deleted and recoverable for 30 days. After that, the daily purge cron hard-deletes them so your disk usage stays bounded.
Are you GDPR / CCPA compliant?+
Yes. Right to deletion is self-serve (see above). Data export is available on request at hello@brandpilots.io.

I hit an error. What should I send?+
The error screen shows an Error ID — paste it into your email and we can pull the exact trace. No screenshots required.
